In a time when Shadowhunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.
The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them...
The first book in The Infernal Devices series, definitely significantly better than the Mortal Instruments series! Although everything is intertwined, and I agree with familiar characters (Magnus, Camille, Church), but Will Herondale - well a real copy of Jace in terms of behavior - so it was fun to read this part and get to know Shadowhuters past, and ancestors of the present. Although Tessa (the main character) sometimes annoyed me because that trait when "I'm good, I don't do anything, but everything that happened is my fault" ... ugh, that attitude everywhere annoys me ...
Just probably the question for most, have I read that whole series? 🤔 Certainly not, but online I have found that books are best read in this order, so now I had to read this. But it was only more interesting, because this was neither in the film nor in the series, so I fell into complete uncertainty about what awaited me. And of course I wasn’t disappointed.
